Winds in the Harbor

Mother Liberty is praying for her sons and daughters
Returning gift wrapped in red & white ribbons and purple hearted
She looks up into the field– so blue, past 50 stars – silently calls Father to You

CHORUS
Lift my torch a little higher light it with your Son’s lighter
Let His perfect love burn forever so no ill winds will I harbor
Our heritage twisted and abused but I concede to You

VERSE 2
Mother Liberty is crying for her sons and daughters
Returning shoulder to shoulder some lying down still united
In bitter-sweet sacrifice for which she stands
With dream filled centers given up for more than just her heartland

CHORUS 2
Lift her torch a little higher light it with your Son’s lighter
Let His perfect love burn forever so no ill winds will she harbor
Our country under attack - we want our “God blessed America” back
INTERLUDE
Vocalist 1(sings softly) Vocalist 2 (speaks confidently)
God bless America, To this great country we all bring our history
land that I love While Mother Liberty took her stand
Stand beside her well after my mother’s many tribes and nations
and guide her established this land
Through the night with my father’s blood
With the Light only generations old
from above into one we grow
BRIDGE
So its not hard to see thru the slanted eyes of my Cherokee
The TRUTH that sets Mother Liberty free and why our soldiers die for you and me

CHORUS
Lift her torch a little higher light it with your Son’s lighter
Let his perfect love burn forever so no ill winds will she harbor
Oh God bless us where we lack - bring the right spirit of America back
CHORUS
Lift her torch a little higher light it with your Son’s lighter
Let His perfect love burn forever so no ill winds will she harbor
Our country under attack - we want our “God blessed America” back
